FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

about Pilates Physiotherapy for back pain

Do I need a doctor's referral to start pilates physiotherapy if I have back pain?

Yes. Unlike other countries such as Australia, you are required to obtain a Dr’s referral letter to attend Physiotherapy sessions in Hong Kong.

During the initial consultation, Judith will conduct a detailed postural assessment, review your medical history, and perform specialized movement dysfunction tests. Based on this, they will design a personalized program tailored to your specific back pain and recovery goals.

It focuses on strengthening the core, improving flexibility, and correcting posture to alleviate pressure on the spine, reduce muscle tension, and prevent future back injuries.

Results vary, but many people begin to feel improvements in strength, flexibility, and pain reduction within usually 5 weeks of consistent sessions. Long-term benefits come with regular practice.

Frequency depends on your condition, but typically 1-2 times a week is recommended, especially in the beginning. Judith will provide guidance based on your progress.

Pilates Plus can significantly reduce pain, improve mobility, and prevent future issues, but results vary. It’s important to follow a comprehensive treatment plan that may also include other medical treatments as advised by Judith.
