Holistic Pilates for Lasting Pain Relief

Individualised exercises designed to build strength and drive results

WHat is pilates plus

Pilates Plus, based in Hong Kong, was established in 2007 by Judith Anne Gould, an Australian-trained physiotherapist with over 35 years of clinical expertise. Combining her extensive experience in posture and movement rehabilitation with over 25 years of Pilates equipment use, Judith developed a unique assessment and treatment program tailored for long-term results.

Judith has developed an assessment which involves extensive questioning, observation of both static posture and dynamic movements, as well as photos and video analysis and research questionnaires. Following the assessment, Judith formulates a list of the main problems found on assessment and a plan of how to treat the issues using the Pilates Plus technique.

Learn more about Pilates Physiotherapy

Pilates Plus was founded by Australian-trained Physiotherapist Judith Anne Gould in 2007 and is an assessment and treatment programme formulated using over 37 years of clinical experience.

What is the difference between Pilates Plus and regular pilates?

Pilates Plus is a tailored approach to Pilates, developed by physiotherapists, that focuses on individual needs and conditions, particularly for rehabilitation, injury prevention, and pain management. Regular Pilates is general fitness-focused, often taught in group classes, and emphasizes core strength, flexibility, and posture.

Yes. Unlike other countries such as Australia, you are required to obtain a Dr’s referral letter to attend Physiotherapy sessions in Hong Kong.

Pilates Plus benefits individuals with injuries, chronic pain, post-surgery recovery needs, or specific physical conditions. It’s ideal for those seeking personalized, physiotherapist-guided exercise for rehabilitation and improved movement.

Pilates Plus can help manage pain, improve mobility, and support recovery by addressing the root causes of your injuries. However, it may not fully resolve all issues on its own. It’s best combined with professional medical advice and treatment for optimal results.

Pilates Plus should not cause pain. The focus is on controlled, gentle movements tailored to your body’s needs.

If you have existing injuries or medical conditions, Pilates Plus can be modified to suit your specific needs. A qualified physiotherapist will design a program that focuses on your rehabilitation, ensuring exercises are safe and effective while considering any limitations or precautions.

Each Pilates Plus session typically lasts between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the program and individual needs. Some sessions may be shorter or longer based on your specific rehabilitation or fitness goals.

Sessions are usually structured with a warm-up, followed by targeted exercises focusing on strength, flexibility, and rehabilitation. Judith will guide you through movements that align with your specific goals, ensuring proper form and technique. The session ends with a cool-down to promote recovery.
